Originally from Maryland, Coach Rowland attended Northern High School and played attack and midfield. Geoff played collegiate lacrosse for Division I Radford University Mens team, where he was a midfielder and team captain. During college Rowland began his coaching career by spending a summer coaching at a camp and playing Junior A box lacrosse in Vancouver, BC. After college he was an assistant coach at both the high school and collegiate levels before founding the New River Valley Lacrosse Club in 2000. Since then Coach Rowland has coached lacrosse at all age levels (U9-HS) in southwest Virginia where he lives with wife Patti, and sons Aist and Julion.
Aside from playing lacrosse, Geoff’s favorite hobbies are mountain biking and making art. Geoff’s favorite lacrosse move is catching an over the shoulder pass from a goalie on a breakout cut because that starts a fast transition to offense!
